Cops search for UPS "Grinch"
Friday, January 27, 2012

Pittsburgh police announced Friday that they have obtained a warrant for a suspected "Grinch who Stole Christmas."

Cmdr. RaShall Brackney, of the Zone 1 station, said in a statement that 24-year-old suspect Guy Palmer "gained notoriety, over the holiday season, for trailing United Parcel Service delivery trucks and then stealing, packages and joy, from the intended owners."

Police tied Mr. Palmer to the missing packages after one of the victims provided officers with video of a theft on Garfield Street on the North Side.

Mr. Palmer drives a silver Chevy Cobalt and is often seen on the North Side and in McKees Rocks and Homestead. He faces charges of burglary and theft.

People who suspect their packages might have been stolen are asked to contact Zone 1 detectives at 412-323-7201.
