Toddler injured when car flips in Arlington
Friday, July 30, 2010

A 17-year-old boy escaping police flipped his car in Arlington Thursday evening, leaving a 1-year-old baby who was inside the car with minor injuries, Pittsburgh police and a city dispatch supervisor said.

The supervisor said police pulled over the car on Devlin Street near the entrance to Loretto Cemetery because they saw the teenager, a "known actor," riding in the car with the 19-year-old mother of the toddler driving. The woman got out of the driver's seat and the male teen proceeded to drive about another half-block before jumping out of the car while it was still moving, police said. The car flipped and the teenager fled. Police were searching for him Thursday night.

The toddler suffered bumps and bruises but did not require treatment at a hospital.
