A man was taken to a local hospital Sunday evening after being struck by a bus in Wilkinsburg.
According to a Port Authority spokesman, the 61A bus -- which runs the East Pittsburgh/Wilkinsburg route -- hit the man about 7:40 p.m.
A video recording system on the bus captured the incident as the man was walking along Coal Street at Ramsey.
"He, essentially, just turned and walked right in front of the bus," said spokesman Jim Ritchie.
The man was taken to UPMC Presbyterian with head trauma. The extent of the injuries was unclear, Mr. Ritchie said.
As is standard procedure, the driver of the bus will undergo drug and alcohol testing and be placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an investigation by Port Authority police, he said.
