Two people were critically injured during a police chase that began in the city and ended in Penn Hills.
An Allegheny County emergency dispatch supervisor confirmed that the chase began at about 4:37 a.m. when a police officer spotted someone who he believed to be a homicide suspect inside a vehicle. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle. A city emergency dispatch supervisor said the chase began near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Kelly Street on the East End.
The vehicle crashed at 4:42 a.m. on East Lemington Avenue in Penn Hills. The occupants were taken to UPMC Presbyterian.
No other details were immediately available.
