SUNDAY

It's hard to imagine the same composer who wrote the sultry "Bolero" also wrote the charming "Mother Goose Suite for Piano," but Maurice Ravel did just that. The chamber work will be the highlight of a Duquesne University Musique on the Bluff concert. Joining faculty pianist David Allen Wehr will be Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Andres Cardenes and principal cellist Anne Martindale Williams. The program also includes Ravel's Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello, and Sonata for Violin and Cello. It's at 3 p.m. at PNC Recital Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. $10; www.duq.edu/french-seasons or 412-396-6083.

TUESDAY

This week is the last chance to see "Si Dios Quiere (If God Wants)," the 2009 Fellowship Award Exhibition at Silver Eye Center for Photography, 1015 E. Carson St., South Side. Fellowship winner and Philadelphia resident Katrina M. d'Autremont traveled to her mother's native Argentina to photograph family members in domestic spaces. Like a shoebox of snapshot memories, her pictures depict the private rituals that comprise a family's life -- cleaning the kitchen, watching television, gathering for a family feast -- revealing how place (and our memory of it) influences and forms us. Open noon to 6 p.m. through Saturday (free). 412-431-1810 or www.silvereye.org.

FRIDAY

In honor of National Women's History Month, an exhibition by Pittsburgh artist organization Women of Visions will be presented in the Conney M. Kimbo Art Gallery in the William Pitt Union, University of Pittsburgh, Oakland. A reception for "Souls of My Sisters: Dedicated to First Lady Michelle Obama," with artists' talks, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. (free).

The event is a celebration of African-American women artists who continue to produce and exhibit thought-provoking work in challenging economic times. Attendees are asked to bring a donation of a personal care item for Sojourner House, which since 1994 has provided love, shelter and support to hundreds of women and children in the region.

FRIDAY

For 25 years a band of monkey-masked women known as the Guerrilla Girls have sought to expose sexism and racism in the art world through literature, posters, action -- and humor. Two of the girls will be appearing at 7 p.m. at the Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12 theater, 111 Ninth St., Downtown, for a fundraiser to support the school's visual-arts department.

Tickets are $3 for students, $7 for adults. Reserve by calling 412-338-6129 or purchase them at the door. There also will be a student art show and sale in the school's lobby.

SATURDAY

Carmen, smoking in more ways than one, and her row of eager suitors make a return to Pittsburgh in the Pittsburgh Opera production of Bizet's famous opera "Carmen." Mezzo-soprano Kate Aldrich stars in the role in a run that begins at 8 p.m. at the Benedum Center, Seventh Street and Penn Avenue, Downtown. Tickets start at $10; 412-456-6666 or www.pittsburghopera.org.

SATURDAY

With a name like Musica Pacifica you might expect calm and meditative music, but the historically informed performers are bringing a program called "Dancing in the Isles" for its debut at the Renaissance & Baroque Society series. The ensemble will go to 17th- and 18th-century sources for arrangements of traditional Irish and Scottish folk tunes, dance suites from the English theater, Jacobean masque music and more. The concert takes place at 8 p.m. at Synod Hall, Fifth Avenue and North Craig Street, Oakland. $10-$35; www.rbsp.org, or 412-361-2048.

SATURDAY
