A New York woman who police said was part of a "large-scale" marijuana drug-trafficking organization was arrested Friday in Plum and charged with possessing 540 pounds of marijuana.
Tameicina Lynn Johnson, 38, of New York City, surrendered to police shortly before noon.
Investigators from the Allegheny County district attorney's office and Murrysville, Plum, Swissvale and Port Authority police departments said the drug ring extended from Mexico to New York City and that Plum was the hub. The investigation began in early 2009.
Ms. Johnson is being held at the Allegheny County Jail on $2 million bond.
