RALEIGH, N.C. -- Penguins center Sidney Crosby is thrilled that the gloves and stick he was using when he scored the overtime goal that won an Olympic gold medal for Canada have been recovered.
And now he's perfectly willing to give them away.
Crosby said today that if the Hockey Hall of Fame wants that equipment -- which it apparently does, for obvious reasons -- he will have no qualms about turning it over.
"If they want it, I'm sure it will end up there," he said. "I think it would be pretty cool to have it there. I have no problem with that."
Crosby's equipment was discovered in Toronto, where it was part of a shipment reportedly headed for the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame.
"I was happy (it was located)," he said. "It was just a situation where it was misplaced or (stored incorrectly), or whatever the case was. I was happy to get it back."
