Moon Area approves Parkway West school budget
Tuesday, March 09, 2010

The Moon Area school board Monday night approved the Parkway West Career and Technology Center budget on a 6-3 vote, despite some misgivings.

The vocational-technical school is seeking a 21 percent hike in school district contributions because of the loss of a $70,000 grant and an upcoming roof repair. Moon board member Michael Nagy questioned the need for administrative raises at the school in casting his no vote.

Parkway West has to get the approval of a majority of the 12 West suburban districts it serves and a majority vote of the districts' 108 board members for approval.
