It was a wild night for The Organization of Chinese Americans as they unleashed the Year of the Tiger 4708 at the Syria Shriners Center in Cheswick Saturday night. A program of entertainment and feasting during a 12-course Mandarin-style banquet fit for a Ming Dynasty emperor was provided by Mike Chen and Bihn Li and the Pittsburgh Chinese Restaurant Association. From one big cat to another, the good luck Lion Dance ushered in 12 months of the Tiger followed by the Buddha dance and other entertainment. Honorary chair of the festivities John Chen (with Jennifer) mingled with OCA president Dr. Tong Chang Lee (with Yue-Fang), candidate for the 4th Congressional District Mary Beth Buchanan (with Tom), Dr. Savio and Patty Wu and Mei Yu Yang and some of her students from Washington and Jefferson University, Mike and Sharon Dailey and Karen Yee. It was a family affair, with on-site child care for children 12 and under. Proceeds from the party benefit OCA-Pittsburgh programs including Free Medical Clinic, Community Outreach and Advocacy.
