Gerry Dulac's Week 12 NFL Forecast
Thursday, November 20, 2008

Last week: 10-6 (.625)

Season record: 105-55 (.656)

GAME: Cincinnati Bengals (1-8-1) at Steelers (7-3), 8:15 p.m., Thursday

THE SKINNY:The Bengals are on a roll -- for them -- and have won two of the past three meetings in Heinz Field. It might be time for the Steelers' Greg Louganis offense -- no splash plays -- to come to life.

PREDICTION: Steelers, 27-9

GAME: Philadelphia Eagles (5-4-1) at Baltimore Ravens (6-4), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:Donovan McNabb doesn't have to worry about this one ending in a tie. He might have to worry more about this one not ending in a shutout, especially against John Harbaugh, a former Eagles assistant.

PREDICTION: Ravens, 17-6

GAME: Houston Texans (3-7) at Cleveland Browns (4-6), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:The Browns appear to have the recipe down pat -- build a 13-point lead and fritter away the advantage at the end, something they've done the past three games. They can thank Phil Dawson for bailing them out in Buffalo.

PREDICTION: Browns, 27-23

GAME: San Francisco 49ers (3-7) at Dallas Cowboys (6-4), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:All seems right now, doesn't it, with Tony Romo back at quarterback? Well, watch out for the 49ers, who have scored 59 points the past two games and make more big plays than Nora Ephron.

PREDICTION: Cowboys, 34-30

GAME: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-3) at Detroit Lions (0-10), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:The bad news for Jon Gruden is he keeps losing running backs. The good news is the Buccaneers keep winning games. And, of yeah, they get to play the Lions, who are starting to feel like the Thanksgiving turkey.

PREDICTION: Buccaneers, 20-13

GAME: Minnesota Vikings (5-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-6), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:Looks like Jack Del Rio might have to re-arrange the seating chart in the locker room again. Or make the players clean erasers after practice. Or have them write 100 times, "I won't lose at home again."PREDICTION: Jaguars, 23-21

GAME: Buffalo Bills (5-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-9), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:The only thing colder than the Bills, who once were 4-0, is the wind-chill in Buffalo. It's starting to affect the person who called the plays to "set up" Rian Lindell for a mere 47-yard field goal against the Browns.

PREDICTION: Chiefs, 24-20

GAME: New England Patriots (6-4) at Miami Dolphins (6-4), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:The Patriots could stop the Wildcat offense or Joey Porter in the first meeting, a 38-13 defeat in New England. Porter and the Dolphins, who have won four in a row, are still rolling.

PREDICTION: Dolphins, 30-23

GAME: Chicago Bears (5-5) at St. Louis Rams (2-8), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:It appears someone forgot to tell the Rams about turning back the clocks. In their past two games, they have been outscored in the first half, 75-3. They have given up 31 or more points in eight games this season.

PREDICTION: Bears, 23-15

GAME: New York Jets (7-3) at Tennessee Titans (10-0), 1 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:Only two teams have won more consecutive games than the Jets -- Tennessee and the Giants. One of those streaks will end in Nashville, where the only thing hotter than the Titans is Shania Twain.

PREDICTION: Titans, 23-14

GAME: Oakland Raiders (2-8) at Denver Broncos (6-4), 4:05 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:Even though they are out of running backs, the Broncos put a little kick back in their gait with back-to-back road wins in Cleveland and Atlanta. They have always managed to corral the Raiders, winning nine of the past 11.

PREDICTION: Broncos, 24-10

GAME: New York Giants (9-1) at Arizona Cardinals (7-3), 4:15 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:The Giants have won five in a row and average an NFC-best 29.2 points. The Cardinals have won three in a row, average 28.9 points (second best in the NFC) and are 4-0 at home.

PREDICTION: Cardinals, 30-28

GAME: Carolina Panthers (8-2) at Atlanta Falcons (6-4), 4:15 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:The Falcons were unbeaten at home until the Broncos blemished their record last week. The Panthers have won four in a row and held the Falcons to three field goals in the first meeting this season.

PREDICTION: Panthers, 24-23

GAME: Washington Redskins (6-4) at Seattle Seahawks (2-8), 4:15 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:Here's the rub: The Redskins have won the past four meetings during the regular season, but the Seahawks have won the past two meetings in the playoffs (2005, 2007). There will be no postseason for Seattle.

PREDICTION: Redskins, 17-14

GAME: Indianapolis Colts (6-4) at San Diego Chargers (4-6), 8:15 p.m., Sunday

THE SKINNY:That giddy-up you hear is the Colts, who have won three in a row, galloping back into the wild-card playoff picture. They are the only AFC team to beat the Chargers at home (14-1) since 2006.

PREDICTION: Colts, 33-31

GAME: Green Bay Packers (5-5) at New Orleans Saints (5-5), 8:30 p.m., Monday

THE SKINNY: No team in the NFC North has a winning record on the road. Then again, no team in the NFC North has a winning record, period. They only seem to be able to beat each other.

PREDICTION: Saints, 38-37
