The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful
Church is strong, Michael is sick and Britney is back
Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Big things will be going on in the 'Burgh, this weekend.

Gospel heavyweights Smokie Norful and Deitrick Haddon will be in town for Millennial Reign Worship Center's three-night third anniversary celebration.

The Homewood church, headed by pastor Karl Edmonds and his twin brother, assistant pastor Keith Edmonds, is also bringing in David and Tamala Brown of Tyler Perry's "Meet the Browns" fame.

Smokie will be in the house Thursday night, while Deitrick performs Friday.

You know Karl and Keith Edmonds compose the fabulous and internationally recognized K&K mime ministry duo.

The church is at 7202 Kelly St.

Michael Jackson is sick.

How sick is he?

He is too sick, according to his attorneys, to travel to London to testify in a lawsuit that claims he owes a Saudi sheik $7 million.

Don't you just hate when that happens.

Anyway, Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa says MiJack took millions of dollars in exchange for an album, autobiography and stage play that didn't happen.

Now Sheik Abdullah, the second son of the King of Bahrain, wants his dough.

You know Bahrain is where Michael went after being acquitted of child molestation charges. He and the sheik hung out and began working on music.

But the King of Pop, who is not like other guys, left the country without even a careless whisper.

This is what we want to know. Why do people keep getting involved with Michael? We are clueless on that one.

Now, here's somebody that's finally getting a clue -- Britney Spears.

The comeback princess will perform on "Good Morning America" for her 27th birthday, Dec. 2 in NYC's Bryant Park.

That's also the release date for her sixth album, the aptly named "Circus."

But before all that there's a 90-minute documentary that will air Nov. 30 on MTV.

Ms. Spears says that the aftermath of her very public meltdown is worse than jail.

"Even when you go to jail, y'know, there's the time when you're gonna get out. But in this situation, it's never-ending. It's just like [the Bill Murray movie] 'Groundhog Day.'"

R&B princess Brandy is inching her way back into the music limelight as well as the romance spotlight.

Life & Style magazine is reporting that Ms. Norwood was seen hanging out recently with fellow singer Tyrese.

Is it a love thang?

We hope not because wasn't long ago that Tyrese and his then-girlfriend were expecting a child.

Maybe they're just friends.

Little Miley Cyrus (seriously, is she only 16?) is ticked off at whoever hacked her Web site and posted a story saying she died.

Michael Yo of E!'s "The Daily Ten" broke the news to Ms. Cyrus and got her response.

Initially, Miley didn't have any idea the story was on her Web site. She has heard Internet rumors about her demise before.

"What happened, did I die like bungee jumping, getting bulldozed, what happened this time?" she asked Michael.

But when she found out the story was on her Web site, she had this to say:

"Oh, I'm ticked. I'm gonna like, smack 'em!"

Now that doesn't sound very Disney-fied.

It has been a minute, but Big Boi and Andre 3000, known collectively as Outkast, have announced that they'll release a new album before the end of 2009, reports Eurweb.com.

That last album, 2003's "Speakerboxx/The Love Below," blew up like one of those microwave popcorn bags.
