A candidates forum will be held at 7 p.m. next Thursday in the Westmoreland Action Community Building, 226 S. Maple Ave., Greensburg.
Democrat Tony Bompiani and Republican Kim Ward, candidates for the 39th District state Senate seat, have been invited to participate, along with Democrat John Boyle and Republican Tim Krieger, who are vying for the House in the 57th District.
The free forum is co-sponosored by the League of Women Voters of Westmoreland County and the GFWC Town & Country Women's Club.
Members of those groups will ask the candidates about issues such as health care, redistricting and legislative reform. Audience participation is encouraged.

Jim Roddey, GOP chairman in Allegheny County, will be one of the speakers at a Plum Borough Republican Committee dinner Saturday at Pugliano's Banquet Hall, 1808 Golden Mile Highway.
A social hour will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7.
Two issues will be addressed, according to Plum GOP Chairman Dave Majernik: a Whiskey Rebellion II to end the Allegheny County drink tax and the need to drill for oil on American soil.

A spike in voter registration and keen interest in the presidential election will make long lines-- and delays -- likely at polling places on Election Day, Nov. 4, the Westmoreland County Election Bureau has warned.
The bureau also announced that the Murrysville East Manordale polling site has been changed from the social hall at Delmont Volunteer Fire Department to Cornerstone Ministries, 2200 Cornerstone Lane, Export.
