Q: If Penn State runs the table and finishes 12-0, does it make it to the BSC national championship game over a one-loss Big 12 team or SEC team?
Jason, San Francisco
MUSSELMAN: It's still too early to talk about Penn State and an undefeated season, given the toughest part of its schedule is coming up in the next three weeks. But that being said, it is an intriguing question. Penn State is in the mix for the national title, just like the five teams ahead of them in the polls -- Oklahoma, Alabama, Missouri, LSU and Texas. But I do believe it would be difficult for the Nittany Lions to make the national championship game unless the are some major upsets along the way. The Big Ten suffers from the perception that is a lightweight compared to the SEC and Big 12, given Ohio State's two blowout losses in the last two national championship games.
