A math coach at Pittsburgh Sunnyside K-8 School in Stanton Heights has been suspended with pay, pending a federal-led investigation into child pornography.
Pittsburgh Public Schools spokeswoman Ebony Pugh yesterday declined to identify the employee, who she said had not been charged.
The district employs math, reading and other academic coaches to help teachers improve their instructional practices.
School district Police Chief Robert Fadzen said the Sunnyside coach was suspended after a computer crimes task force contacted the district to say it was investigating the 46-year-old man for Internet child pornography.
The district said the activity allegedly occurred off school property and did not involve district students.
