A robber stole an undisclosed amount of money during a holdup at a Dormont shoe store yesterday.

Borough police arrived at the scene less than a minute after the robbery was reported at 11:25 a.m. at the Payless ShoeSource on West Liberty Avenue, Sgt. Phil Ross said.

The lone clerk said a light-skinned black man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, entered the store, took money from the cash register and fled across the street. He disappeared from view as he turned onto Wisconsin Avenue, Sgt. Ross said.
