Crane accident kills worker in Fayette County

UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- A worker from a stone supply company is dead after a counterweight from a crane fell on him.

Twenty-eight-year-old Robert Stoots died Monday evening at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

Officials say Mr. Stoots was working on the crane at about 9:30 a.m. Monday at Coolspring Stone Supply Inc. in North Union Township in Fayette County when the counterweight fell on his lower body. Officials say the counterweight weighed between five and 10 tons.
