2 hurt in crash of school police car

A Pittsburgh school police officer and a civilian where injured this morning when the vehicles they were driving collided on the North Side.

School Police Chief Robert Fadzen said Officer Gerald Singleton suffered non-life-threatening back, head and neck injuries and was being treated at Allegheny General Hosptial. The other driver, whose name was not immediately available, was treated at AGH for a facial cut and bruise.

Chief Fadzen said the accident occurred as Officer Singleton, driving a school police van, attempted to make a left from Ridge Avenue onto Arch Street in front of the oncoming car.
