I enjoyed your article on hot dogs. I especially wanted to thank you for giving The Red Caboose a plug! I'm not related to the Vairis who run it, but my family and I have been enjoying their dogs for years and for as crowded as it gets there at times, it's still kind of a secret spot!
You just can't beat a good dog, and you just can't beat the Red Caboose for quality, prices, atmosphere (in all seasons!) and the friendliness of the Vairi family!
Now, if you could get Munch to try it, well, that would be just dandy!

I'm writing to tell you about a place you might have missed. This is our favorite roadside stop, down near the Allegheny River, below the Pittsburgh Zoo. It has changed hands twice in the last couple of years. The current name is Ice Cream Station Zebra. They sell mostly Nathan's hot dogs and soft ice cream. It's only a five-minute drive from our home and we often stop on the way home from somewhere to sit and watch the river while we enjoy our twists and an occasional chili dog.

I read the letter from a reader about a dairy in New Jersey and I think I may have the location she is looking for.
There is a wonderful old dairy called Richland Deli and Ice Cream on Route 40 in Richland, N.J. (mailing address 1335 Harding Highway, Richland, NJ 08350; 1-856-697-5200).
We look forward to stopping there too!
