Gasoline cost for the average RV trip

(700 miles at 10 mpg and $4.50 per gallon). Surprisingly, recreational vehicle rentals are up during this summer of high gas prices as soaring air fares force fliers to scale down vacation plans. Average RV rental fee: $1,500 per week. Campsites with electrical hookup, $20-$35 a night. RVing families of four spend an average of $38 daily on meals (average four-person daily restaurant bill, $150). Total average cost of 1-week RV vacation for four people: $2,000.
